Exalted Planets

Exalted planets

In Vedic astrology planets become exalted at certain positions of the zodiac. In exactly 180 degrees from the exalted position, they become debilitated. Exaltation makes the benefic planets more beneficial and the evil planets less evil.

But does the theory really work? We will discuss here certain charts in which Jupiter, the 'putra karaka' (key planet for projeny) is exalted but the persons have no progeny. When we judge a matter, we consider both the key planet, the  key house, its ruler and of course, other planets aspecting the house..

Focussing our attention mainly on the key planet, how can the exaltation of Jupiter have no effect at all on the progeny aspect?

In the above chart Jupiter in Cancer is exalted. The native has no issues.

It may be due to the fact that V house is occupied by two malefics, Mars and Ketu, the tail.

Or is it because, the ruler of the V house Venus is weak in the  III house?

Is it because the depositor of Jupiter (the sign ruler) Moon is weak in the XII?

The answer needs a lot of research.

Here is another chart whose owner has no children even after a long married life. Jupiter is exalted. Ruler of the V, the firy Mars, is of course unaffilcted by any malefics. Also Jupiter aspects powerfully its own house, the V.
Unfortunately in spite of all these factors, the native is not blessed with children.

In the above chart, Venus, the 'Kalatra Karaka' (key planet for matrimony) is exalted in Pisces. But the native was married very late at the age of 36!

We should also note that the VII house is occupied by the node Rahu. It is very clear that exaltation alone does not contribute for fulfillment of one's desire in life.
